Our bobcat control services include the removal and control of problem bobcats from residential and commercial areas, and wherever they are causing problems. Our control and removal methods never consist of the use of poison.

Bobcats are common in Washington and the Seattle area and can become problem animals. They are noted for killing pets, such as small dogs and cats, but are also well known for killing poultry, other captive birds and small mammals. Bobcats can pose a threat to human safety, especially when a female is raising kittens. Bobcats are also susceptible to the rabies virus.

Below is more information regarding bobcats.

Bobcat (Lynx rufus)

Bobcats are medium size predators in the cat family. These cats are three times larger then a regular house cat. They tend to appear bulky and full due to their muscle mass. They have short "bobby" type tails and their hind legs appear to be longer than their front legs.

Bobcats are quite graceful in movement and can vary in coloration. In Western Washington, bobcats are a beautiful cedar reddish color with dark spots and pointed ears. In Eastern Washington, bobcats are light gray to blue with dark blue spots.

Male bobcats are larger than the female bobcat, weighing between 14 and 40 lbs. Females weight 9 to 33 lbs. Breeding season for bobcats is from January to June, and gestation periods range from 50 to 70 days. Litters often contain 2 to 4 kittens.

These felines are great hunters and consume a large variety of animals such as rodents, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, opossums and wild birds. This great hunter has outstanding eyesight and is not seen much in the wild due to the fact that they stay well hidden in dense forest and shrubs.

In urban areas they feed on rats, squirrels, rabbits, ducks, geese, feral and domestic house cats, and songbirds. Our Bobcat Control Measures are non-lethal.
