Our raccoon control services include
the removal and
control of problem raccoons from attics, crawlspaces, walls, sheds,
garages, and wherever they are causing problems. Raccoons
are also notorious for raiding gardens, destroying lawns while digging
for grubs, knocking over trash cans in search of food and eating fish
from ornamental ponds and aquaculture facilities. Below is more information regarding
raccoons. Raccoon (Procyon lotor) This
nocturnal bandit of the night critter is a curious creature. The
raccoon is found throughout the United States. Raccoons prefer to be
close to water in hardwood forest, although over the years raccoons
have become more accustomed to suburbia. These cleaver
critters
are omnivorous, meaning they eat both plant and animal
foods. Raccoons
like a wide variety
of food, including berries, nuts, grains, and corn to shellfish,
crayfish, insects, snails, frogs and other small creatures. They also
prey on larger animals such as rabbits, muskrats, waterfowl and
ground-nesting birds. In urban areas and suburbia they will eat cat and
dog food, garbage, and even Koi fish. Raccoons
generally breed once a year from January to February. Gestation is 63
days and most litters are born in April or May, but some litters are
often born later. The average litter size is 3-5 kits.
Raccoon
babies will leave the nest with their mother at around 8 weeks of age.
She will teach them the ropes of being a nocturnal
critter. Our
